Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Deborah Weinberger, Founder of On A Wing Healing, located in Airdrie, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I offer several types of alternative healing to assist my clients in thriving in our energy-charged world. On A Wing Healing provides several kinds of alternative healing to help my clients, both adults, and children, to succeed in day to day life, through the use of Energy healing and Angel Card Readings and techniques. Also, teaching workshops to adults and children leaves them with tools to continue on their own.

Tell us about yourself

My first experience with Alternative healing came when I felt my world was weighing very heavy on my shoulders, and there was nothing I could do to fix it. I went for a Reiki treatment, and after the treatment, I felt I could breathe. Nothing in my world had changed, but I could breathe again.

It was after this first treatment I knew I wanted to be able to help others. From there, I became a Reiki Master in many forms of Reiki, Angel Empowerment Healer, and several other modalities. Every client's treatment looks a little different. I pull from my tool belt whatever I am guided to use for my client needs.

Teaching has also become a passion for me, both adults and children. It's one thing to treat a client, but offering workshops, so they have their toolbox is fantastic.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment so far in my business is learning to trust my intuitive guidance in moving forward with my offerings.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about having my own business is balance. It is easy to spend hours upon hours doing something you are passionate about. However, work and home life balance is essential. So I have to make a conscious effect to "turn it off."

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find something you are passionate about. This way it will never feel like work.
  2. Trust your intuition and take that leap.
  3. Boundaries, remember healthy boundaries and balance work and home.
