Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Manuel Martinez, Founder of OmniHR LLC., located in Fairview Heights, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

OmniHR is a recruiting agency focusing on direct-to-hire placements. Our goal is to give someone their dream job while also making the dream team for organizations. We would like to help every organization reach its true potential with the right hires.

Tell us about yourself

I enlisted in the U.S Navy in 2013 as a Hospital Corpsman. I climbed the ranks in the military, taking on more responsibilities and leadership roles. I've worked with some of the largest organizations and traveled all over the world. I've always had a drive for self-improvement and the initiative to believe in myself.

I fell in love with the Talent Acquisition part of Human Resources because I loved building a team from the ground up and seeing that team I brought together succeed where others may have failed. I want to develop other companies by vetting candidates and only placing the highest quality and most motivated individuals to create innovative dream teams all over the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Starting. The hardest thing about entrepreneurship is getting up and going and taking the time to believe in yourself. It's hard to bet on yourself, but if you don't, no one else will either.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is keeping the fire alive. It takes self-discipline and self-motivation to keep it going. Early mornings and late nights are what it takes to be successful and if you choose the entrepreneur life, having that drive is a must.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Tip one is simple, just start! Don't let your doubts get in the way of your dreams. If you want it to happen, then make it happen.

Tip two is to find someone that knows more than you. Whether it's a mentor, family, or doing your own online research, you can never have enough knowledge.

The third tip has to be setting a schedule. When your motivation fails you having a set schedule will save you. Sometimes self-reliance becomes difficult but giving yourself a clear schedule that you commit to will help you stay focused and stay consistent.
