Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Shilpa Lewis, Founder and Owner of Omni Mindfulness Coaching, located in Carlsbad, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Omni Mindfulness is a Mindset & Meditation Coaching Business, founded by Shilpa Lewis.
Shilpa serves professional women and mompreneurs, who struggle with the stress of work-life balance, overwhelm, anxious, lack alignment with their true selves or purpose, and feel stuck either personally or professionally.
I offer 1:1 and Group Coaching (book your FREE Discovery Call), Group Meditation, and Workshops. Additionally, I offer online Mindset and Mindfulness Courses at Omni Mindfulness for professional working women and mompreneurs. These courses are great for busy women since they can integrate practical and easy-to-follow techniques at their own pace.
My upcoming joint workshop “Mindful Awareness to Awaken Wealth” starts in January 2023, which is a 3-month series to help women learn mindful money management strategies from expert Financial Planner and author of Awaken Your Wealth, Julie Murphy. You can listen to Julie discuss Attracting Abundance through Heart-Activated Coherence on my Podcast Omni Mindfulness.

Tell us about yourself
I am a Mindset & Meditation Coach, show host of the Podcast Omni Mindfulness, Meditation Expert, producer of guided meditations on Insight Timer, and creator of my signature courses Awareness First, Happy Mind, and Second Act.
I hold a bachelor's in Information & Computer Science and a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction. I also hold multiple certifications, including Meditation & Life Purpose Coaching and Yoga & Breath-work Coaching. And I'm also an initiated Kriyaban Yogi in the Self Realization Fellowship lineage.
I understand the struggles of modern professional women. Having spent years in the technology space, I witnessed the challenges of working in corporate cultures. I also experienced the challenges of being raised in the 70s in the United States, in an immigrant family, with traditional Indian culture. I have first-hand experienced the personal and professional pressures placed on women leaving them feeling that they lack time and energy for self-improvement.
In late 2018, after 20+ years working for Corporate Technology Leaders & Starts-up, I felt a calling to pause and pivot my professional path. I realized my "WHY" was my son, Omni. I realized that after the untimely death of my mom, I wanted to be more present for my son and family. This was when I signed up to get certified as Meditation & Life Coach. With a combined 30+ years of experience as a User Experience Research & Design professional, lifelong meditation practitioner, and life coach, I am on a mission to empower women to live a fully embodied life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I believe one of my biggest accomplishments is the creation of my podcast, Omni Mindfulness. I believe in the transformational power of storytelling. After coaching accomplished professional women and mompreneurs, I noticed that everyone has a story to tell. These stories connect each of us and have the ability to inspire and heal others.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a mompreneur business owner is learning where to invest your energy and time management. Starting a solopreneur endeavor requires managing multiple moving parts.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
I suggest these three tips for mompreneurs:
- Connection: seek to connect to coaches or mentors, fellow mompreneurs, and masterminds. Be open to expanding beyond your comfort zone.
- Clarity: seek clarity on who you are, your role, what you want to accomplish, how much time it will take, and most importantly, your WHY. Be willing to look INWARD & hold yourself accountable.
- Curiosity: remain curious about the tools you can utilize to support you personally and professionally. These tools can range from mindset techniques to time management tools.
