What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own and operate NuVision Health Center. My customers are those looking to improve their health naturally. We are located in the Macomb, MI area, but I have tele-wellness clients all over the world.
Tell us about yourself
My brother passed away at a young age due to medical malpractice. I knew then that the current health system had serious flaws. I wanted to be a part of the solution. So I went to school to study chiropractic, nutrition, and natural healing strategies. I wanted to inspire others to take control of their health naturally because I believe that true health only comes naturally.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
It's hard to narrow it down to just one. As a doctor, each patient that has a health transformation feels like a massive accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
A good staff is your best asset as a business owner. But finding and maintaining that staff can be a challenge, especially as a small business. Competing with corporate benefit packets is difficult, but I find that maintaining good reports with staff can go a long way.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Operate on the 80% rule - if it's 80% done right, then go for it. If you wait for everything to be 100% perfect, you'll never get started.
- Figure out a strong why. If you don't have that, then when the going gets tough (and it will), then you will crumble and give up.
- Don't be afraid to kiss a few frogs...Dan Pena said this one, and it stuck with me. Because, as a business owner, you'll make mistakes. Some things won't work out. That's all part of the process. So take your failures, learn from them, and keep plugging along. Keep kissing those frogs until you find the prince...until you find the one that works!
