What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have a 12-week course called The Feel Good Formula for women with Autoimmune Disease who want to go from sick and confused to energized and pain-free.

Tell us about yourself

I started getting real passionate about working with food and Autoimmune Diseases after I found out how to heal myself from my Autoimmune Diseases through food and lifestyle changes. I kept hearing women complain that their doctor said, "You're going to have to live with this for the rest of your life?" or "This is all in your head." or "Here, take this pill to MANAGE your disease." It's heartbreaking when it comes down to what we're putting in our body every day, and how we're living is the make or break to your autoimmune disease. Living with an autoimmune disease is OPTIONAL, not NECESSARY. What motivates me to get this word across and help women with autoimmune diseases is the results I hear these women get. It's incredible! Even after just a couple of days sometimes. When someone has been dealing with a chronic disease for over 20 years and within a couple of weeks can feel SO much better like never before, THAT'S what's motivating.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say just the fact of owning a business. It was never a real dream growing up or an aspiration. Probably because I never knew it could be possible. Anything is possible, so why not me? The fact that my business also gives me a platform to change women's lives is a pretty incredible accomplishment too.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The marketing aspect of getting your word out about the business and never being able to shut your brain off about the business. There are always new ideas or tasks to get done that it's hard to just "log off" at the end of the day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Believe that it IS possible for you to do. The answers will come. Just worry about taking action right now.
  2. Build a community of entrepreneurs. Sometimes you don't know what you don't know, and having a community to go to and listen to sparks ideas and resolves issues faster.
  3. Invest in yourself. We're not super-human. We all need help. Invest in a coach, invest in a mindset group, invest in a business manager...Invest.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you or someone you know has an autoimmune disease, please reach out to give them hope and encouragement that better days, answers, and healing is out there!
