What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a sustainable provider of God-created alkaline medicinal herbs in the form of teas, powders, capsules, skin and hair creams, and gels. Our customers are individuals that are looking to either maintain their health or prevent or reverse their diseases.
Tell us about yourself
Since I look at this business as a lifestyle with the inclusion of helping others naturally heal from various "diseases," I begin working on this business while serving an 18-year federal prison sentence. While in prison, I became a raw plant-based foodist, natural and holistic nutritionist, and horticulturist. This led me to the study of physiology and herbology because, to me, they are all tied together. Therefore, I began to practice reversing various ailments of other inmates with wild herbs that grew on the prison compounds and fruits. Once I reversed six diabetics, I knew I had to continue helping heal my people once I was released from prison. In the year 2020, a good friend of mine that I met in prison gave me the idea of starting a botanical company once I'm free. Due to his experience, he helped form a vision of me actually creating and manufacturing herbal supplements. That same year I was released. Within that same year, I formulated Nuru Botanicals. Helping others achieve their health goals and being a contributor to reversing diseases for others is my motivation. The fact of knowing my purpose as a healer is my biggest motivation.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being able to create an effective detox program for people without compromising my integrity and principles.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As an online store, keeping the current website updates and promotional campaigns.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Create a business that has something or somehow to do with your God-given purpose in life.
- Have a business where you can honestly say, "I do what I love, and I love what I do."
- Whether you are providing a product or service, make sure you are adding value to people's lives.
