Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Colleen Millett, Co-Founder of Noture, located in Spring Hill, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a subscription gift box service focused on reminding women of the importance of self-care. We do that by sending a monthly gift box based on a one-word theme with 3-5 items that will awaken the senses and nurture their soul so they can't forget to take care of themselves.

Tell us about yourself

Gina and I got started working on this business in 2016 while we were reconnecting our friendship after having been apart for many years - we were best friends in high school and still are to this day! We were both motivated to help women reconnect with themselves through the art of self-care and the importance of remembering to take care of yourself first and foremost so that you will have a full cup to give of the overflow to others in your life. We are motivated daily by our children, our clients, and our passion for living a life of vitality and good health. We both have the goal of living beyond 100!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment has been keeping the business alive through the past few years of uncertainty. We know that now more than ever, women are in need of self-care as the world has turned upside down, and we all navigate endings and new beginnings while moving forward into creating the lives we would truly love living with more wisdom and compassion for one another.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is making tough decisions and not knowing whether they are right. I once heard a business coach say that "you make the decision, and then you make the decision right," so I do my best to live by that philosophy. There is always the ability to make another choice if things don't pan out. Everything is a learning experience, and when we know better, we do better.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. What is the message you want to shout from the rooftops?
  2. Know who you want to serve - who is your target market (the ones that NEED your message?
  3. How can you differentiate yourself from others with a similar message so that you can stand out to your tribe of peeps that need you?

Where can people find you and your business?
