Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Neidy Hornsby, Founder and CEO of Noir IP, located in Miami, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Noir IP is a business and trademark law firm unapologetically focused on serving women entrepreneurs.

Tell us about yourself

I am a wife, mom of three, and Founder & CEO of Noir IP. Every day, I have the privilege of serving women who, like me, have decided to bet on themselves. We quite literally help women safeguard, leverage, and monetize their ideas.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am particularly proud of the way we are disrupting the legal industry. We bridge the gap in access to bespoke legal services. To that end, we have eliminated the false choice between quality legal services and DIY solutions. Our predictable flat fees ensure that entrepreneurs can launch without mortgaging their vision in exchange for legal advice.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Imposter syndrome. I think this remains a constant struggle for women in business. However, every win, big or small, helps to silence nagging thoughts. It is definitely a daily practice.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Incorporate! Separate your personal assets from the business.
  2. Secure your trademarks!
  3. Do not let excitement overshadow strategy.
