What's your business, and who are your customers?
We make gourmet cookie dough that's made to be eaten raw! We have four scoop shops where we serve our cookie dough just like ice cream, and we're currently expanding into retailers nationwide.
Tell us about yourself
I started NoBaked in early 2017 after working a corporate job in the music industry for about a year and a half. I had realized that I really wanted to have more control over my own career, and I couldn't spend my days in a cubicle staring at a computer. My chocolate chip cookie dough recipe was the one thing that I had created that I felt other people would enjoy as well. At the time, there wasn't safe to eat cookie dough being offered anywhere, but I knew there were others who liked to eat it raw just like I did! I created a website and an Instagram, I partnered with local influencers, and I launched NoBaked on March 31, 2017. The same thing that motivated me then still motivates me today - our customers and their love for our product!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making it five years as a company (this year) was huge for us. I feel like we're finally to the point of having our feet planted firmly on the ground - ready to grow.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The uncertainty. There will be weeks where you're not sure you're going to make payroll and then weeks when everything is going great. You have to get used to the ups and downs!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just do it.
- Don't get too caught up on the details; they will change as you go.
