Tell us about yourself

I am a yoga and meditation teacher, sound healer, and changemaker passionate about using the 8 Limbs of Yoga, sound healing, and various other life-enhancing tools to help people rise to their full potential. When this happens, I believe that all living things, including this planet, will benefit. Music and movement have been my passions for as long as I can remember. Growing up in San Francisco as a dancer, gymnast, and musician, I spent my free time creating choreography and playlists and playing the keyboard, organ, flute, and saxophone.

I eventually took on the band assistant role in school and performed warm-up duties along with teaching newer students how to read music and play instruments in private sessions. After 12 years of practicing yoga, I was called to participate in my first teacher training and completed 200 hours of vinyasa flow with Body, Mind, Life in Sydney, Australia, and then 300 hours with Zuna Yoga in tantric Hatha, meditation, restorative, and stand-up paddleboard yoga in Bali, Indonesia.

It was in these countries that I began to explore the soul-nourishing aspects of kirtans and sound baths, which I often practiced with teachers who played live music during classes. This was when I realized I could combine my passions for yoga and music with the intention of helping people regulate their nervous systems and experience deep cellular relaxation, which I found extremely beneficial in my own healing journey.

I now teach yin yoga, sound healing, and meditation classes primarily and host public and private sound baths, events, and retreats with other musicians, healers, and organizations that are on a mission to make this world a better place.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Every day I wake up and get to do what I love, which is an accomplishment. The day I can afford to take time off will be a day well celebrated.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I work seven days per week, often for 15 hours per day, and I haven't had a vacation since 2018.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Learn to welcome failures as lessons and actually learn from them.
  2. Don't give up, and only surround yourself with supportive people.
  3. When you love what you do, the energy, motivation, and inspiration come from within, and you will succeed.
