What's your business, and who are your customers?

We offer fresh snacks and food for dogs and cats. Customers who care about the health of their pets are pet owners.

Tell us about yourself

I am a trained chemist and worked in the human healthcare industry. When my former dog got sick from the food and treated commercially made, I realized we needed to flip the script. The health and happiness of furry babies motivate me every day. A portion of what we get to sell also gets donated to furry best friends.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is curating specialty and hypoallergenic products.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It is hard to learn about every aspect of the business (i.e., finances, sales, marketing, employment) at the same time. It is definitely tough being a female in business as it is a very male-dominated industry.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find your core mission.
  2. Decide what you won't compromise.
  3. Let yourself make mistakes and pivot fast.
