The First Organic Functional Frozen Popsicle - Nia’s Arc

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Laura Ramsey, Founder of Nia’s Arc, located in Topanga, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is the creation of the first functional popsicle. Using wild and ethically harvested plants, each popsicle has been carefully crafted for each system of our bodies- including organs, nerves, immunity, and digestion. The more we eat, the more we are nourished. Our customers are those seeking quality ingredients- free of poison.

Tell us about yourself

Some may have seen me before in movies and television, but after becoming a mother and healing myself through an autoimmune disorder, my focus has become holistic nutrition and wellness. I became a certified herbalist and realized that one aspect missing in most of our diets is the presence of wild plants. I wanted to create a way for us to have access to them in a fun, easy, and enjoyable way - and who doesn’t love the classic, refreshing, and nostalgic treat of a popsicle? An innovative new twist on the classic treat with vitamins, minerals, and enzymes in every bite.

Having two small children, I have not found a satisfying and healthy treat that is not filled with additives and chemicals. My motivation is to be a part of the change that needs and is happening in our food today. I yearn for all to have a product we can trust and feel good about consuming. I am blown away by the messages I receive from people who not only love the taste but feel the benefits of my creations. This is the fire that keeps me going.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

There is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful for, even just that one person finding us. I created a product that I personally have been searching for, and when others love them as much as my children and I do, this makes my heart full.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Practicing patience.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Passion.
  2. Believe in yourself.
  3. Power of prayer.
