Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Julie Kratz, CEO of Next Pivot Point, located in Carmel, IN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Next Pivot Point offers diversity, equity, and inclusion training, and we serve organizations that want their teams to feel fully seen, heard, and belong in the workplace.

Tell us about yourself

I started this business eight years ago with the purpose of helping women. What I came to learn is that gender is just one piece of the diversity puzzle - we need all voices speaking up for positive change.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having a team that supports me and is 100% committed to the work we do. We learn and grow together, and I am so thankful for them.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The ups and downs. Life as an entrepreneur is like a rollercoaster. I love the variety, yet the inconsistent flow of work is challenging at times.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Lose the ego - it is not always about you.
  2. Plan ahead - you won't get anywhere if you don't know where you are heading.
  3. Be brave - know you can help others solve problems
