Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in leadership development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mark Nesbitt, Founder of Nesbitt Training, located in Kanata, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Leadership Training is my business. I work a lot with blue-collar boots on the ground, future leaders. All things construction.

Tell us about yourself

I spent 30-plus years in the construction/aggregate business, frustrated by poor leadership. I saw the need for someone from the industry to go back, share their experience and speak their language. I love showing leadership skills to the people doing the work, the forgotten ones.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The fact that I have worked with over 100 companies in the past ten years is pretty satisfying.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Keeping business in the funnel. It's too easy to get busy and forget about future work.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Never sell yourself short.
  2. Define who you are and who your customers are.
  3. Stay focused.

Where can people find you and your business?
