What's your business, and who are your customers?
Nelia's Floral Design is a Toronto-based flower boutique that specializes in creating elegant floral designs for all occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and other special events. Our customers are every person who are in need of flowers within the GTA and surrounding areas.
Tell us about yourself
After working as a social worker and management for 20 years, it was time for a career change. My wish was to have my own business, but I was not sure what to do. After taking the Professional Floral Design Training, I knew that my passion for flowers, art, and creativity and my ability to work and communicate effectively with the public would be a success.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We take our products and services very seriously! Communication is key in talking and listening to our client's needs to ensure we fully understand their floral needs. We create floral arrangements based on the needs of our clients. It is wonderful to have the ability to assist people in sending love, sympathy, or congratulatory messages through the beauty of flowers.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Working long hours and always try my very best to meet my customer's expectations.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Take time to learn and understand the business industry and what customers' needs are.
- Be prepared to work long hours and give your best to your customers in terms of services and products.
- Believe in yourself and visualize your business as a success, and don't forget to work at it every day.
