Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natasha McCrea, founder and CEO of Love CEO Institute, located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Love CEO Institute is a personal development company that helps women from all over the world rediscover themselves and design the life they want by using a methodology that creates a self-care and self-love lifestyle.

Tell us about yourself

In 2012, I produced a tour of my one-woman show, Evolution of a Love Addict. The show is a sneak peek into the mind of a serial dating divorcee on her quest to find real love. Most plays schedule an audience Q & A. So I decided to do the same. On those nights, I sat in a single red chair on a red carpet on stage alone, after bearing my soul to answer questions about how I did it all. The audience asked questions like "How do I love again?" "How can I forgive my family?" "How do you move on past the hurt?" "How do you love again after going through such a painful divorce?" I would also spend hours late at night responding to every single email I received after my shows.

I told everyone who would listen how I found myself again and how peace and love became a lifestyle for me. So I decided to take all of my knowledge and create an online community with courses, coaching, and memberships to help women stay connected to themselves, build genuine confidence, connect to their feminine power, and so much more. This community became known as Love CEO Institute.

I am motivated by knowing I can encourage women to get the most out of life with grace, ease, and a whole lot of love.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is not being afraid to start another business. Being told by so many people to focus on one thing sounds like hell to multi-passionate entrepreneurs. For a long time, I was embarrassed to have so many ideas. Especially since not all ideas came to fruition, but continuing to honor the vision for my life is what allowed me to start Jackson McCrea Whiskey with my business partner Sheila Jackson while I am still the owner of Love CEO Institute. It is a huge accomplishment to be able to redesign my business to fit my lifestyle.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing for me is balancing the multiple facets of my life. Love CEO Institute is a personal development company that shows people how to make self-love and self-care a lifestyle so they can improve their quality of life and design the life they truly want. Me being my greatest client, I am always reminded to honor all of my magic. I am a masterful creative, and my biggest challenge is knowing when it is time to pursue that great idea versus handing it off to someone else in the universe to complete.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. JUMP! Most businesses that failed simply failed to start. Do not wait until you know the answers before you jump in. Even once you start the business and you want to try something, now do it. If you are being led to pivot, then pivot. Simply JUMP.
  2. Keep self-care as part of your business plan. Every goal and milestone should be connected to a self-care activation. If you are going to launch a product, schedule a few days off immediately following. Carve out time in your day for self-care. Make it a priority because your business is only as successful as the success of your self-care.
  3. Celebrate everything! Life is all about enjoying the journey. At every stage, building a business will be one of the most challenging things you'll ever do. And once you reach one milestone, you will set another, and the cycle continues. Take a moment to pause, be present, and celebrate it all. Celebrate the big, the small, and the in-between.
