Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natalie Dreger, a fitness and business coach based in Spokane Valley, WA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a health and wellness business infused with financial fitness. I am absolutely obsessed with guiding others toward living their best life. Showing other women simple steps to grow their social media following, build their brand awareness, attract the right people to their platforms, and build a business that is completely online is real freedom.
Tell us about yourself
I was my first transformation client. After losing over 60 pounds, others began asking me, 'How did I do it'? I had a 'light-bulb' moment realizing that women needed simple steps and accountability to reach their own goals and feel fabulous. Often, when you share your own struggles that you've found a solution to overcome, THAT is worth a price that others are willing to pay for to finally get off the struggle bus. It all began over 20 years ago, as I mentioned above, with my own transformation. I made a promise to my two boys that I was going to be in the best shape possible for them. It was important that I physically be able to run and play with them - and, ultimately, be the best role model for them.
They have always been my number one reason for everything, and I'm extremely grateful for the vision to see the bigger things in life in a more meaningful way. The time freedom of owning your own business is amazing. The income is unlimited. The motivation to shine my own light becomes 'brighter' each day as I realize how important each moment is. I recently lost my oldest son, and, as a parent, it's the worst nightmare. Time is extremely precious; I highly encourage anyone contemplating escaping the 9-5 and starting your own business simply to own your days - DO IT.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the ability to really make a difference in the lives of others. When you serve a higher purpose and answer your 'calling,' you'll feel like all the puzzle pieces have come together perfectly. I wanted to create stability in my life that also incorporated real freedom... a business that I could run from my laptop from anywhere. That is what I've come to love about the business model I developed. Showing other women how to do the same in a simple step-by-step method critical for their own business growth is extremely fulfilling. Having the right automation in place has also been extremely helpful and time-saving!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Setting boundaries with my time has been one of the hardest things that comes with owning your own business. When you are obsessed with your business and love impacting lives, setting strict working hours is necessary. Selecting what days, what hours, and who I want to work with is necessary.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Discover the real reason 'why' you want to run your own business. That reason will be the heartbeat of your business and push you towards your own success.
- Find a mentor that will help you streamline your business and show you how to fast-track your own results.
- Give yourself the grace and space to dream a bigger dream. I believe everyone is meant for more and has a dream burning within.
