Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in photography but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Naila Ahmed, a photographer and graphic designer based in Fort Worth, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a graphic designer and photographer by profession. I also have a blog and YouTube channel, which I work on in my free time. My clients require any type of graphics, photography, or editing. My YouTube subscribers are also very important to me. You can visit my Youtube channel at @NailaKanwal.

Tell us about yourself

I got married early, and I had to travel a lot because of my husband's job. I was attending the University of Wisconsin and ended up having to finish my bachelor's degree online. I worked as a freelancer from home, but there was a lot of competition online, and after becoming a mom, it got even harder. So I decided to make YouTube videos in my spare time, and I enjoy editing videos for my channel, which has grown to over 2,000 subscribers in a year since I began putting time and effort into it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think my biggest accomplishment is my hobby, which is my Youtube channel. It generates revenue each month, even when I am not uploading new videos.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is when you are not seeing enough improvement or progress, and it makes you want to give up.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The first tip is to never give up. Sometimes you get lazy when you don't see any fast results, and you want to give up, but that shouldn't be the case. The second thing is to keep going no matter what. The third piece of advice is to always give yourself credit for trying your hardest, regardless of the outcome.
