What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Ibiza Restaurant and Lounge in Duluth, GA, right outside Atlanta. My customers are middle-class people that are between 21-40 years old.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Nafeel Ahmed. I'm a young entrepreneur that is pursuing a business that I'm very passionate about. I love bringing people together to create memories and have a great time. I was always a very social person, even at a young age, and I knew I wanted to own an establishment where I could bring people from all walks of life to come together to have a good time in Ibiza. Seeing people happy at my establishment motivates me to keep working work every day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is overcoming challenges to keep the business operating this long, especially with the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic brought. It made us find new ways to innovate during that time. In October, Ibiza turns seven years old, and we are so grateful!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is the burnout that you face, inevitably. You're doing a little bit of everything as a business owner. Maintaining balance is the key here.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Starting a business requires analytical thinking, determined organization, and detailed record-keeping. It's important to be aware of your competition. Always providing good service to your customers is crucial to gaining their loyalty and retaining their business.
