Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in fashion but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Robnitia Weekley, Owner and CEO of N & C Glam Collection LLC., located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I started my N & C Glam Collection LLC business in 2019. I had little to no knowledge about starting a business besides what I saw on YouTube and things I read on Instagram. I used my paycheck to purchase the inventory for my launch. I did not get my first order till two days after my launch. Although I had little support from people I know in real life, I never gave up. I stayed consistent and continued to promote my business daily. Orders started to roll in, and I started building a relationship with customers. My customers are from social media or who get referred to me by others.

Tell us about yourself

The motivation behind starting my own business is my passion and mission. My goal is to provide exceptional customer service and meet all of my clients' beauty needs by incorporating the latest beauty trends and offering high-quality products with a pretty affordable budget. I am very knowledgeable and educated on today's modern trends. And I strive to make every customer feel pretty and look their best. I take great pleasure in offering these products and I want to ensure that each and every one of my clients enjoy our products.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I literally eat, sleep, and breathe the entrepreneur life! It’s really a passion to connect with other women business owners! Since the beginning, I’ve always loved the freedom of living life on my own terms and being a boss! I look forward to expanding and growing with you all.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It definitely has not been a smooth road. Business has its ups and downs. Busy and slow days. I don’t think starting any business is smooth, but because it is something that I love and is passionate about, I’ve dealt with hurdles as they come. It is harder, though, with it still being a pandemic, and we’re now heading toward a recession. One of the struggles is when you think an item is a hit, do a poll, get amazing feedback, launch it, and no one purchases it. It’s so hard to start small sometimes because then you have those times you launch an item and it sells out within an hour. My main struggle is staying motivated because sometimes it’s hard to stay focused when you feel like all that you are doing is not enough.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Want to start your business? Just start. Business is all about taking risks. You live, and you learn. I have made a lot of money and also lost a lot. But those losses are learning experiences, and they taught me what not to do. Focus on you and your craft. Don’t worry about the next person and what they’re doing because you won’t be able to tap into your full potential. The only person you should be in competition with is YOURSELF!!!!! Stop trying to one-up somebody else and one-up yourself. That will make you work harder and elevate your own craft!
