What's your business, and who are your customers?

My Bibi Box is a monthly subscription box providing comfort for women experiencing the Menopausal Transition. We source natural products from US-based suppliers whose values align with those of The Bibi Group. Our mission is to help women embrace the Menopausal Transition and nurture them in their journey through education, inspiration, and product solutions. Our customers are women who want to allow "The Change" to transform them into their better selves as they navigate this season of life.

Tell us about yourself

I have had entrepreneurial ambitions from my teenage years. In high school, I started a tutoring business with my best friend. I put aside my ambitions after college while marriage and children were my focus. I knew that I wanted to start something, but it often seemed like life got in the way. When my dad died, I had to assume management of his business which presented many challenges. I finally started working on my own ambitions ten years ago, but it has been rough. I persist because I know this is my calling, and I love working on my ideas and seeing them come to fruition.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Staying positive despite many challenges. Staying true to my values.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Trying to do it all yourself when bootstrapping your business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do the research, but Start.
  2. Get help. If you can't afford to, try providers outside the US and bartering.
  3. Get your product/service to market as soon as possible to get feedback.
