Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Justin Coldiron, Owner of My Athlete Box, located in Buckeye, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My Athlete Box is a female fitness subscription brand motivating women to live healthier lifestyles. We ship curated fitness boxes monthly to our subscribers and also provide digital workouts and recipes with every subscription!

Tell us about yourself

We started the brand in 2018 to help women live fun and healthy lifestyles. This was based on our own fitness journeys, and we saw there as a gap in the market for helping other amazing women. We all love what we do at MAB because we know that we're providing our subscribers with high-quality apparel, gear, personal care, and healthy fuel and hydration to try out every month. Our brand partners are incredible, and we love exposing them to our members to try out each month!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The biggest accomplishment as a business owner is finding myself
taking care of myself so that I can focus on putting positive and fun energy back into MAB. We've landed many partnerships and have an awesome team, but if you don't focus on yourself every week, you won't be successful in the things that you do on a daily basis.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest (and probably the hardest) things that come with owning and running a business is the true colors that expose by the people closest to you. You find out very quickly that people do not believe in you, your product, or your brand, and instead of lifting you up or helping you however they can, they bring you down. You're going to lose connections, but you must stay focused on YOUR goal and your goal only. You got this!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Just start. Don't focus time on putting a massive, pretty business plan together. Also, don't ever think you can't do it. You can. The real world is going to give you a dose of reality no matter when you start, so just start. Take your time, be patient, and live along the way. I don't recommend going hard every day, 24/7; that's how you'll lose those who love you and support you - trust me. Be humble and understand your business will grow over time. It's not easy; you will make mistakes, but if you keep watering it, nurturing it, and providing to it however you can, you will be successful.
