Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Angela Webber, Founder of Ms. Angie, located in Norfolk, VA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a speaker, Life Coach, and Author. I help businesses, women, and employees overcome their emotional challenges to be more successful in their careers and life.

Tell us about yourself

My 3+ decades of service to business as a customer service specialist and my community and as an Ombudsman along with Foster Care have shown me the number of people who need that extra support and encouragement in order to reach their goals set my heart a fire. I love serving people and helping them to reach their potential in their goals, and helping them find their place and voice in the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Finding the right team to add the support I need to become more recognized in the community and locate the right outlets to help people who struggle with feeling stuck in life. Finding my niche and knowing what I want to do with my time. I have spent many years giving it to others and not really reaching the ones who need to be reached.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The fear to head out on one's own. When you hold the cards and must guide the direction and make sure that all aspects of the business are in the best interest of the business. Only one person can drive the car; if there are two drivers and they aren't going in the same direction, then they aren't going to get far. So, making sure my team understands the goals and is on board with them.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't Quit! If you give up, then you will never know what it is like to experience the dream.
  2. Be strong; from the inside out, be strong. Don't let doubt and discouragement overtake your thinking.
  3. Find your niche. Know what makes your heart swell and do that. If you love what you do, you will have no problem doing it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Dare to dream; so often, we doubt ourselves and our ability to dream. The ability to push pass all the hurts and discouragement that life has dished out. Use techniques to stop the discouragement and the voice in our heads that says we can't when in fact, we can do anything we put our minds to.
