What's your business, and who are your customers?
Movement Med is a Pilates and Medical Exercise studio located in Chicago. We work with clients who want to become healthier, more attune with their bodies and live a more active life. Although we do work with all clients, many of our clients have challenges, such as a medical condition or physical challenge, that we help them navigate on their journey to wellness.
Tell us about yourself
I have been in the health and fitness industry since 1989. There is not a day when I enjoy working with people and helping them achieve more, and I am forever a student learning about the body, the mind, and the human spirit to overcome and achieve more.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I still have bigger dreams of helping more people, but starting Movement Med from nothing with little means, attracting the most talented and caring team that inspires me, and seeing the little miracles that can happen with each person that comes through our doors.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Handling all the stress of so many different areas finance, marketing, operations, putting out fires, collecting money, and keeping everyone happy.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Pay attention to the revenue and expenses.
- Do the little things everyday things well and stay consistent always, no matter what.
- Make quick decisions; if you are wrong, correct it fast, learn and move forward.
