Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Morgan Adams, founder of Morgan Adams Wellness, located in Richmond, VA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I’m the owner of Morgan Adams Wellness. My clients are women who want to optimize their sleep or who have insomnia and are looking for a coach to provide a customized solution along with accountability.

Tell us about yourself

I’m a former insomniac who was dependent on prescription sleep medication for almost ten years. I truly understand the struggle to sleep, which is my primary motivation in helping women with similar issues.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment so far has been getting over my comfort zone and positioning myself as a guest on health-related podcasts.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is finding great talent to help out in areas where your skillset isn’t strong.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Network. When you’re looking for a good web designer, copyrighter, or other specialists, it helps to network with other business owners who can recommend professionals who do great work.
  2. Don’t be shy. Talk about your business whenever you’re offered the opportunity. You can do this without being pushy or obnoxious. Be proud to share with others who you help and serve because you never know who might be looking for the type of help you offer.
  3. Compare and despair. It’s easy to fall into the trap of looking at other professionals in your field and comparing yourself to them. The reality is that there’s no one “right way” to do something. You might think that a business owner has everything together, but you really don’t know what might be going on behind the scenes.
