Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Monica Hershaft, CEO of Monica Hershaft Holistic Health & Nutrition, located in Scottsdale, AZ, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We help you get rid of chronic symptoms by identifying the underlying cause and treating the source of your symptoms. This treatment plan helps get rid of what's causing your symptoms, including what's causing your inflammation, digestive deficiencies, organ dysfunction, resistant pathogens, and stuck toxins. We address the 5 Layers to Illness in reverse order by customizing a naturopathic healing program tailored just for your unique body. Most of these won't show up in normal labs and CAN be fixed! We identify and remove hidden physical blocks to healing that have prevented your body from responding properly in the past. No two programs are alike because no two bodies are alike. You can get back to being YOU again and not have chronic and debilitating symptoms getting in the way of living your best life!
Tell us about yourself
As someone who struggled for ten years with a chronic mystery illness, I know what it feels like to be sick and unable to function. The docs said that nothing was wrong with me. They told me it was in my head and that I should take antidepressants. I knew that wasn't true, so I kept searching until I learned how and why I was sick and was able to fix it! My "superpower" is the strength to never give up. I have a never-ending belief that anybody can be healed. I'm someone who went through this, and I know exactly how you feel and how it impacts your life and how to help you.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was to shut down everything I had built over 15 years and move to a new state and start completely over from scratch where nobody knows me, and I have to create an entirely new presence!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
It can be hard to run a business and be able to take time off, especially if there is a loss in the family or you have a loved one going through something. If you are at the stage of your business where you cannot leave, then it can be a lot!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Focus on who you are serving.
- Focus on why you are serving.
- Make your clients feel valued, appreciated, heard, and acknowledged.
