What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a small beauty business where we specialize in semi-permanent makeup (brows, lips, freckles) and lash extension services! We also offer training to certify those who are looking to start or expand their beauty business and brow & lash products that we can ship straight to your door! Our customers are those who are looking to enhance their look, make their daily routines easier, and gain more confidence.
Tell us about yourself
I’ve always been in the beauty industry since I was in high school. I’ve tried my hand at hair, nails, makeup, etc., but my love and passion for the permanent makeup industry has been unmatched. I love being able to give newfound confidence (that lasts) to the amazing individuals that have given me their trust & and whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting while also making their daily regimen easier! Time is something so crucial, so if I can shed some time off of your routine, that’s amazing!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is how much of an impact I have made on peoples’ lives, including the girls who are a part of the Modern Face Team and, of course, our amazing clients and customers. When I get feedback on how happy my clients are with their service/product, it fulfills my heart! It has also been surreal to see the amazing team I have (including past and present members) grow in their lives, doing something they love, making a difference in our clients’ confidence, and being able to make this a full-time career.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is getting my new team members acclimated to the business, as anything new can be challenging and scary. I do my best to encourage them and provide guidance while also reminding them that nothing good comes easy, and with determination, consistency, and practice, success will come!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Believe in yourself, this may sound cliche, but it’s a huge foundation for the reflection of your business.
- When you fall, and you will (more than once), dust your shoulders off and get back up again!
- Invest in your business and yourself because it will show!
