What's your business, and who are your customers?
MMP Provisions and Events is a full-service boutique Catering and Event Design Company. Our customers are South Floridians looking to feed their friends and family- whether a dinner for ten, a wedding for 250, or a gala for 700, MMP has the experience and talent to allow you to be a guest and truly enjoy yourself at your event.
Tell us about yourself
Not only did I never envision myself owning a business, I certainly never expected how exceptionally rewarding it would be. I became a business owner after working very hard for years while learning as much as I possibly could when given the opportunity, lots and lots of practice, and learning from many mistakes. After being in the events industry for so long working for others, I felt that my Business Partner and Chef Andrew Jacobs had the resources required for success. We’ve worked hard to surround ourselves with the best talent who are also extremely team-oriented. From there, I felt confident in my Partner and me starting out on our own. What motivates me the most is being a good employer, the endless design aspect of this business, and without a doubt, the reward that comes with working with our clients and making their visions come to fruition.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In our second year of incorporation, we won a bid for one of Miami’s most popular and prestigious annual Galas.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make mistakes early.
- Ask as many questions as you need to, and never feel too scared to ask.
- Do right by your employees, and they will do right by you.
