Tell us about yourself

Obese for most of my teens and 20s, I lost 60 pounds and now help others find the spark to lose weight and discover the best version of themselves beyond the scale.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Published in Men's Health and a recent award as my city's top trainer. Though, all the "accolades" that matter most come from our member transformations.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's the unpredictability. When you punch a clock at 9-5, you know what to expect and when your day ends. The entrepreneurial roller coaster has its ups and downs, but it's fun if you embrace the uncertainty.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Follow your passion and be persistently patient in pursuit of that goal.
  2. Lead with a giving hand. Give without expectation. You can't out-give the universe, and it'll eventually come back around and then some.
  3. Hire mentors strategically to accelerate your growth curve. The best tip I can give you is to hire someone who's walked the path you want to walk and can guide you there faster.
