Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Janine Winn, owner of MINT & COCO, located in Dayton, OH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is MINT & COCO, a spiritual wellness and intentional living brand that helps my customers elevate their everyday rituals and spiritual practices. I offer intention candles, oils, and other spiritual tools.

My customers are individuals choosing to live a more intentional life through ritual and self-care. They are on their individual journeys of cultivating self-love, healing, confidence, and so much more.

Tell us about yourself

One of my favorite mantras is "everything with intention" this keeps me going daily, especially since it acts as a reminder to infuse intention in everything I do with my business and my personal life. I also find that I feel encouraged and confident when intentionally moving in the direction of my desires, so being able to create intention tools that others can use to cultivate that same feeling is what helps motivates me to continue doing what I do!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being in a community with my customers. It was so important for me to create a sacred space that promotes healing, happiness, joy, and growth. To see that coming to fruition blows my mind. I'm so grateful and excited for what's to come!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The most difficult thing about being a business owner is the back-end side of things. I'm a one-woman show, so I photograph all of my products, created my website, handle all the marketing, advertising, sourcing, contention creation, and the list goes on.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If you're interested in starting your own business, I recommend getting clarity surrounding your ideas and intentions, what type of community do you intend on cultivating, how your business will serve your existing community or others, and what value your business will bring to its intended customer as well.
