Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nicola McAdam, Founder of MindVibes, located in London, United Kingdom.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

MindVibes is a wellbeing company that drives behaviour change through holistic life coaching, positive psychology, mind-body tools, and scientifically proven frameworks. We provide our clients with the tools they need to significantly boost their wellbeing and create change in any area of their lives.

Our customers are people who are looking to overcome anything that is holding them back from creating their dream life and are in need of support to do this, and corporate clients who need to boost wellbeing in their organisations.

Tell us about yourself

For as long as I can remember, I've felt there are exciting things happening in the world of holistic wellbeing (taking the entire person into account). I've always been into self-development, and never in history has there been a better time for combining mental health support with goal-setting and confidence tools in order to create change.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We work with the biggest advertising agencies in the world, and it has been a huge accomplishment to see remarkable results in the mental health and confidence of our clients after participating in our programmes.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being your own personal cheerleader! Every single day you need to have discipline, even on the days you don't feel like it. I think that has been the hardest skill to develop - discipline, not motivation, is what will get you ahead.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get a coach! If you're going it alone, it's super important to have someone in your corner to hold you accountable for achieving your goals!
  2. Identify your 'WHY' Why are you doing this? What kind of change do you want to see in the world? On the tough days, come back to your reason for pursuing your dream to stay focused.
  3. Don't be afraid to pivot. You may launch a business and find that it takes a different direction once you've researched your market and have worked on customer feedback, and that's ok. Stay fluid and open, and talk to your customers constantly.
