What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am in the personal development space and focus on athletes and improving their mental performance.
Tell us about yourself
I was a former NCAA D1 college and pro hockey player. I left the game and entered the corporate world and spent 20+ years in executive management and business development roles. I got into the mental performance space after getting in a life-threatening motorcycle accident. Through my recovery, I found a calling back into sports as a being servant leader.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Watching young athletes achieve the dreams that they didn't believe at first were possible.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Learning to say NO. My mission every day is to figure out how I can add value to other people's lives. I don't like when money becomes a factor in someone's decisions that could affect their health or their future when I know I can help them. Learning to say NO and put up boundaries is very difficult when you want to help everyone who comes to you.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Figure out how to make money doing something you love.
- Now is the best time... Start today!
- Don't be a hero and think you have to do it alone. Ask for help!
