Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natalia Maslova, Founder of Mindfulness In Motion, located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am an Integrative Therapist, and I help overwhelmed entrepreneurs manage their personal energy and build resilience to stress, so they can excel in business without sacrificing their health.
Tell us about yourself
2009 was a year of many changes. I was going through a divorce after 11 years of marriage while heading a growing property management division in my company. Upon the suggestion of a close friend, I took my first Yoga class. It was love at first Savasana (corpse pose). With Yoga, I discovered how to be the Calm at the center of the Storm - and that changed everything for me...
I learned and later mastered invaluable self-regulation tools such as therapeutic Spinal movement, mindful bodywork, breath-work, and energy work. Over the last 12+ years, I compiled the most powerful, science-backed tools into my Mindfulness In Motion system, which I teach through my online programs, online coaching, as well as in person.
We live in times of constant change and uncertainty, which translates into more stress. This applies to entrepreneurs who are struggling with more burnout, overwhelm, and anxiety than ever before. What motivates me and fires me up every morning is to know that I help entrepreneurs protect and replenish their #1 asset - their energy, so they can do more in less time, with a higher level of focus, in a more sustainable way. The transformation I offer is to start living with more harmony and resilience while embracing inevitable change in healthy ways.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is taking the plunge into the online space to create my first digital product and offer online coaching to reach and serve a wider, global audience.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
You are your own boss. You are the one who makes key decisions, which can be tough and overwhelming. It helps to have a great partner and a good support system :)
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be VERY patient. Rome wasn't built overnight, as they say, and all great things take time and persistent effort.
- Create, DON'T WAIT. If you're a perfectionist, like me, this can be an issue. Just remember, in business, imperfect action is always much more valuable than waiting for tor things to be perfect before putting them out there.
- Have burning PASSION for what you want to do. If you are not obsessed with your business idea, no one else will be. Furthermore, the extra long work hours will only be endured if you truly LOVE what you do.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
It is essential that you take care of YOURSELF outside of your business. That includes self-development and holistic self-care. Your business grows only if you grow and maintain optimal health and well-being.
Where can people find you and your business?
If you like what you've read here and have your own story as a solo or small business entrepreneur that you'd like to share, then please answer these interview questions. We'd love to feature your journey on these pages.
