Helping You Live Emotionally Healthy - MindFrames

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in mental wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Shefali Batra, Founder of MindFrames, located in Santa Clara, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm in the business of helping people overcome challenges that come in their way of accomplishing personal, relationship, and professional goals. My target audience is all ages, from teenagers and young adults to middle and old age, who I assist with mindset, emotional, and lifestyle change that helps them reach the zenith of existence. I also work with couples, groups, and corporate organizations in wellness promotion.

Tell us about yourself

As a qualified psychiatrist in practice, I noticed that focusing on illness is taking attention away from wellness. People are "not ill" and still "not well." My own health, personal and professional battles motivated me to support, guide, and coach my clients to develop a winning mindset, set the right goals, and work the right strategy to achieve them. Seeing lives transform has been my greatest motivation and continues to inspire me to help people morph into the best versions of themselves.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Knowing that I can make a big difference by changing the littlest things. That is why I called my initiative MindFrames wherein the mind can be reframed to generate more insightful, purposeful, and fruitful outcomes in everything we do.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Drawing the fine line between working on the business or in the business. Oftentimes I struggle to make time for myself because I get deeply immersed in what I do. But I am constantly reminding myself to empathize and care for my own needs in order to not let my own wellness slip through the cracks.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take lessons from "everything."
  2. Seek help when you need it.
  3. Be willing to evolve and change.
