Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Laura Livermore, Owner of Mind Body Manifest, located in Atlantic Beach, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a spiritual life and success coach, yoga teacher, and international wellness retreat leader. I'm certified in subconscious reprogramming techniques to help spiritual female entrepreneurs break through mindset and emotional blocks like imposter syndrome, worthiness wounds, anxiety, and a lack of mindset so they can manifest the life and business of their dreams!

My spiritual wellness retreats are deeply transformational and empower women to trust their intuition and reset their minds, body, and soul through practices like yoga, meditation, healing workshops, and adventurous excursions.

Tell us about yourself

Like many others, I started out in the corporate world, where I learned leadership qualities for many years. After about a decade, I started to feel this deep inner calling toward something more. I just didn't know what it was yet. At the time, my yoga practice was what helped me deal with the stress of the corporate world, a tough breakup, and family issues. And then, one day, during savasana at the end of a sweaty yoga class, I got this clear download to do a yoga teacher training. The teacher training opened me up to doing deeper inner healing work and learning about manifestation.

As my life began shifting in such positive and miraculous ways, I knew I had to help other women do the same! I got certified as a coach to help raise the vibration of the planet by empowering as many women as possible to step into their soul purpose as heart-led leaders! My love for travel, yoga, and transformational healing work is what inspired me to start hosting retreats all over the world. It fulfills me so much to see women experience big shifts and deep connections in such a short amount of time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been successfully and consistently creating, selling, and hosting sold-out luxury spiritual wellness retreats that help women heal, transform, and manifest epic things into their lives. Adding retreats has helped me double my income and has been the most fun and rewarding part of my business! In the near future, I plan on creating a program to help other coaches, healers, therapists, and yoga teachers learn how to add retreats to their businesses!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think one of the hardest things, especially as a new business owner, is wearing all the hats. You tend to do everything yourself at the beginning, which can be exhausting! From online marketing to copywriting, teaching, selling, and being in your zone of genius, I've found that hiring help and having a mentor can save you so much time, frustration, and even money in the long run.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't wait until you're "ready." Ready is a mindset. You don't have to know all of the steps ahead of time. Just take one inspired step in the right direction, and then the next step will reveal itself. It's like you're following the breadcrumbs of success. Then one day, you'll look back and realize how far you've come!
  2. Get a coach or a mentor from the beginning. Someone who has not only a proven track record of where you want to be but also someone that you emotionally connect with and who has similar values. That last part is important. I learned the hard way after investing $8k in a coach who did not align with my values or sense of integrity, forcing me to walk away. I learned a lot, though, and have realized that every seemingly "mistake" breeds wisdom. ;)
  3. Celebrate all the small wins! At times, it can be hard not to compare yourself to others who are further along. This just robs you of your joy. Even though you may not be where you want to be yet, you are already further along than you were before. Make a point of celebrating every small accomplishment, not just the big ones, because it is the small steps along the way that comprise the journey! You can be grateful for where you are now while striving for more. This small shift in mindset will make a huge difference in what you attract into your life.
