What's your business, and who are your customers?
My company is called Mewd Vitamins. The first all-natural vitamins with mood support for teens and pre-teens. Mewd Vitamins' customer is primarily individuals who are health-conscious and interested in maintaining their physical and mental well-being. Our target market includes young adults, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and individuals who are interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, the brand's focus on mental health and mood support appeals to those who are seeking natural ways to manage stress and anxiety. Mewd Vitamins also appeals to individuals who are looking for innovative and unique products in the supplement market.
Tell us about yourself
As a fearless first-generation Greek gal, I truly believe the sky's the limit. With two decades under my belt in the real estate game, I've become quite the expert in living life on the edge. I'm not one to settle for a humdrum, secure path - instead, I thrive on pushing myself to embrace the unknown and trust that everything will fall into place.
As someone who suffers from absolutely terrible PMS, I had an epiphany that I should create a product to help teens avoid the same struggles I faced. I shared my idea with a fellow entrepreneur dad at my kid's school, and he saw the potential of starting a vitamin line that could help teens navigate those tumultuous years with a little more ease. Thus, our all-natural multivitamin was born, featuring the mood-boosting amino acid L-Theanine. Little did we know we would become the pioneers of teen multivitamins with mood support.
I'm a puzzle solver in this game of life. I love finding what fits and constantly adjusting for success. It's a skill I inherited from my parents, who never gave up despite trying various businesses before finding success with their Philadelphia restaurant. As first-generation Greek Americans, they lived the American dream and instilled in me the value of hard work and determination. And now, as a first-gen Greek American gal myself, I've seen the light at the end of the tunnel.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm proud to say that Mewd Vitamins has been alive for a solid two years now, and the growth just keeps coming like a monthly adrenaline rush. What keeps me going is growth. Gotta keep that dopamine flowing and the excitement high.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Achieving success is a daunting task. It's not a cakewalk. You need to be passionate about your vision and have faith in yourself to keep pushing forward. Financial stability doesn't come easy. It requires years of hard work and persistence. Keeping your expectations realistic and having a secondary income source, like my career in real estate sales, can be helpful along the way.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
If the idea keeps nagging you, take the plunge! You don't want to end up with regrets on your deathbed.
- Choose a start date, and be careful who you share your vision with - naysayers can dampen your spirits.
- Seek out like-minded individuals to bounce your thoughts off of, and remember, life is short.
