What's your business, and who are your customers?
I deliver talks about how a Mind Reader could break into your company. I use my skills to steal passwords and PIN details and to bypass most of the security out there.
My main customers are people who have bought my book and organisations who understand that I am better at communicating their security issues than their IT teams are.
Tell us about yourself
I was doing a magic show for military service, and after stealing some random information (PIN details, passwords, mother's maiden name, first pet name, etc.), a high-ranking official said to me, "Do you realise the damage you could cause to businesses all round the world?" it was at that moment that the idea of MentalTheft was born. I have since been hacking companies, breaking into companies (at their request), giving talks, and writing about my experiences!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
When the book that I thought no one would read started hitting different bestseller lists on Amazon - that was a weird feeling!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Currently, it's how lonely it can be. At the moment, I'm a one-man band that has some great support from other individuals. Fingers crossed, this year (2023), I will be able to employ some key people, and the MentalTheft movement will be able to help even more people to stay safe.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Always be ready to be wrong.
- Change is going to happen.
- If you're rubbish at admin, find someone who is great at it AND loves it!
