Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Melina Nacos, Owner of Melina Nacos Coaching, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a high-performance coach; working with leaders and go-getters who want to use their success to leave a legacy of positive change by focusing on communication, emotional intelligence and collaboration. This includes entrepreneurs, senior management, C-Suite, and beyond.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a busy mom of three kids, two dogs and two cats (and a gecko). I live to support and inspire people, providing the direction they need to become the person they've always wanted to see and develop a lasting legacy of positive change.e.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As an entrepreneur, my biggest accomplishment is balancing the needs, responsibilities and priorities of my work with my personal life. That means being comfortable working independently and still ensuring that we make it to swim meets, attend appointments, and manage renovations in our home.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, there have been two big challenges. The first has been dealing with the fear and stress around incoming money versus outgoing expenses. The second has been overcoming imposter syndrome. I've had to coach myself the same way I coach my clients to believe in my skills and trust the process.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't think small.
  2. Amplify your strengths and get help with your weaknesses.
  3. Be in service of others.
