What's your business, and who are your customers?

Medicine Man Crafts is a Native American craft and herb shop in Cherokee, NC. Our customers are anyone interested in locally made Cherokee crafts and herbals.

Tell us about yourself

I inherited the shop from my mother, who owned and worked there for over 50 years. I'm interested in carrying on the store's long history, excellent reputation, and legacy.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating a very customer-friendly environment and developing an e-commerce store along with a social media presence.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Accounting and taxes.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure it is something you're passionate about.
  2. Hire great people that you can trust to learn and run things when you're not around.
  3. Start small and take baby steps toward growth every day.
