What's your business, and who are your customers?
A team of doctors and I lead a medical education company. Our customers are doctors from all around the world who need to obtain their medical licenses to practice medicine in Germany. Our doctors prepare them fully for the exams and support them every step of the way, fully online.
Tell us about yourself
CEO and Founder of MEDDEOnline, a lover of life, and a hard-working person who was deeply unsatisfied with work as a hospital doctor. I basically asked myself, do you want to work all your life for somebody else, a company, or people who aren't necessarily looking after your interests or possibly even give a damn about you, or do you want to CREATE something where you are actually free, and can GIVE to the world the best of you, despite all the difficulties?
It is easier to follow all the life schemes and preconceived life paths, and it's easier to follow other people's lead who are above you, but he who take risks and take the lead and command of their lives in order to carry out a vision chooses most definitely the hard way, which is, at the same time, full of pleasure and personal satisfaction. That is what motivates me to do what I do, ultimate freedom and providing an amazing service that makes the world a little better.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Empowering doctors all over the world who want to come and practice medicine in Germany.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is finding free time to do those things one previously had the time to do, like, in my case, practicing martial arts, doing long bike trips, traveling to different countries, or playing music.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Apply the same principle that has worked for millions of years: natural selection. That is, after a given period of time, only some species (in this case) companies persevere. Most don't make it and disappear (same with businesses); the key is to mutate (change, adjust) as many times as needed until you find something that works, that really makes you stand out from the competition, then stick to it and continue applying changes on other fields and calibrating your system until you develop a fully working strong organism (a successful company) that is fully ALIVE for years to come.
- Follow your intuition and stay away from negative influences of any kind. Life is too short to waste your time with tire kickers.
- Keep your feet on the ground at all times, don't let success blur your vision, and remember where it all started when it was just a bunch of ideas in your head. At the same time, have the grandest goals, so take steps every day towards that goal, and more importantly, enjoy every hour of work in your life!
