What's your business, and who are your customers?
Mcbeth Marketing helps small businesses that need help with marketing but can't afford to hire a full-time marketing director. My company helps the business owner with marketing strategy and then works with them to get that strategy implemented. We come in and fill in the marketing cracks wherever that is needed.
Tell us about yourself
I've been in advertising and marketing, selling products for thirty years. For years, as I would talk to small business owners, I would always think: "There has to be someone out there that can guide these small business owners through the marketing process." I finally decided that person was me...and it has been a blast. No two businesses are alike.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In two years, my company has grown from just me sitting in my home office to now having a small team. This year, my gross revenues have tripled, but the biggest accomplishment I have as a business owner is the strong relationships I have with each one of my clients. That is what is most important to me.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is that when I work a lot of hours.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do something you love, not something you just think is going to make you a lot of money.
- You need a website to give your business legitimacy. Don't rely on social media as your website. Potential customers won't take you seriously, and websites can be extremely inexpensive.
- Make sure you have Google My Business and update it frequently. This is a free service Google offers that can help you start ranking on Google.
