What's your business, and who are your customers?

bluefrog Plumbing + Drain of Orange County is a professional residential and commercial plumbing company serving Orange County, CA. We specialize in offering full-service plumbing solutions and have had much success serving the needs of property management companies, real estate groups, apartment complexes, and commercial customers.

Tell us about yourself

I worked in the corporate world for many years and hold a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). One day, I decided that I didn't want to waste my life away staring at spreadsheets and wanted to do something tangible. I thought, what better way to have a direct impact on the community than to offer exceptional and reliable plumbing services? Getting into the plumbing industry was difficult, but it has paid dividends in the long run. I am motivated every day to provide outstanding service to our customers!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I believe my biggest accomplishment is the team I have built around me at bluefrog Plumbing. Without them, we would not have the success that we do today. They are committed to delivering great service and work hard every day!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is wearing multiple hats each day. As a small business owner, you change from being the company's salesman to operations manager to maintenance technician. And, sometimes, all in one hour!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Here are the top 3 pieces of advice I would lend to anyone trying to start and grow a business:

  1. Make sure you have a detailed business plan and have carefully projected your start-up costs.
  2. Do not start a business unless you have more start-up capital than you think you need.
  3. Make sure you have a passion for your venture. The passion gets you through the tough times.
