Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in digital marketing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rishabh Dev, Founder of Mapplinks, located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Mapplinks is a digital marketing agency and academy. We provide digital marketing services and consulting. We also host courses on startup growth and digital marketing for both entrepreneurs and marketers.

Tell us about yourself

I started freelancing as a digital marketer and then expanded to building a small team. This led me to slowly build processes and case studies and expand the team to an agency model. While executing digital marketing campaigns for various clients as an agency and consultant, I documented my learnings and started sharing them with other business owners and marketers on my YouTube channel, my newsletter, and my academy. My passion for digital marketing is what keeps me motivated, and I am happy that I can provide value to other businesses by managing their digital marketing campaigns strategically.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm honored to have companies of all sizes - from Fortune 500 companies to startup accelerators - work with me. Apart from that, my most significant push comes from people I've been able to train and teach through my courses and videos. Their testimonials are my best accomplishments.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's often hard to say NO. And as a business owner, I've found one of the best ways to prioritize and be able to work at a high productivity level is by saying No. So it's one of the more frequent things that I have to do and is quite hard to do in many situations.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Build processes around all the recurring activities and operations.
  2. Assign, delegate, and outsource most of those activities - Do not try to do everything yourself.
  3. Once the processes are set, Focus on working ON the business rather than IN the business.
