Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in fashion and apparel but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Stefan Suppa, co-founder of Mannr, located in Woodbridge, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Mannr is a human-led, AI-assisted professional styling and delivery service for premium menswear. We help busy men save time when buying from their favorite brands and retailers.

Tell us about yourself

I started my career in management consulting, which helped me understand the needs and lifestyles of busy professionals. My friends, colleagues, and clients were extremely busy working 60-80 hours a week that any opportunity to save time and reduce decision fatigue is welcome and appreciated.

At Mannr, we strongly believe that how you dress sets a confident tone for the day and contributes to happiness and productivity. Helping to relieve pressure from our clients' lives and helping them feel better each day is what motivates us to continue growing Mannr.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Convincing my Co-Founder Gina, Head of Professional Styling Emily, and all of our team members to join our mission and build Mannr. Mannr would be nothing without them.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Trying to find ways to reach more customers with a startup-sized budget. There is so much that we want to do. Being a startup teaches us to be resourceful, but we are capped in terms of what we want to do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand your customer better than anyone else; this will help identify a problem that you are best suited to solve.
  2. Be passionate about the problem you are solving. If you don't love what you do each day will feel like a grind and can limit your creativity and productivity.
  3. For younger entrepreneurs, consider working at either a startup or job that enables you to be close to executives and decision-makers. This will better prepare you for the challenges of running your own business.
