What's your business, and who are your customers?

Online therapy and counseling services. Our clients are individuals who need help with their mental health and couples who need help to improve their relationships.

Tell us about yourself

My career in mental health care began at Duquesne University, where I still serve on the Alumni Advisory Board. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from La Roche College & Masters of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University. My motivation is to help as many people as I can to improve their lives and find the best path forward. Beyond this, I am motivated by the knowledge that my team and I are making a difference in someone's life, the intellectual challenge of working with different types of clients, and the satisfaction of helping someone reach their goals.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been the successful launch and growth of my business. I have hired additional staff, increased revenue, and established a solid client base. I am proud of the hard work and dedication of myself and my team that has gone into making my business successful.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is dealing with the financial responsibility of running a business. It can be difficult to manage the cash flow, budget, and taxes that come with owning a business. It is also difficult to manage the various regulations and paperwork that come with running a business. Additionally, as a business owner, you are responsible for the success of your business, which can be daunting.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Develop a Business Plan: The best way to start a business is to develop a comprehensive business plan that outlines the goals and objectives of the business, as well as how you plan to achieve them. Having a business plan allows you to stay organized and on track as you start and manage your business.
  2. Secure Financing: Many businesses require some form of financing to get off the ground. You will need to decide how much money you need and how you plan to raise it. There are a variety of options, such as bank loans, small business grants, and crowdfunding.
  3. Market Your Business: Developing a marketing plan is essential for any business. You will need to consider who your target audience is, what channels you plan to use to reach them, and how you plan to measure your success. Additionally, make sure to stay up-to-date on the latest marketing trends to stay ahead of the competition.
