Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey as a life coach, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Morgana Rae of Charmed Life Coaching Inc.

What's your business and who are your customers?

I cultivate and support world-changing women leaders to heal the rift between heart, spirit, and money... in order to save the world as only they can.

Tell us about yourself

Ha! I started coaching "officially" back in 1994 (if we don't count my entire life), working specifically with entertainment industry people--helping actors, writers, producers, directors, etc launch their careers, win awards, sell films, etc--because helping others was fun and nourished my soul.

I decided to make it my full time vocation in 2000. What motivates me daily is the inspiration I get from my own clients and the success stories that come in from strangers around the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My reputation and the quality of my relationships with clients going back decades.

Yes, I've made millions of dollars (which blows my mind), but sociopaths do that all the time. To have built and sustained a successful business based on love and integrity, zagging when other zigged, doing things my way, is something I'm really proud of.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Businesses tend to run on fear. Way too many people will sell you on false promises because they are driven by fear.

As much as I WISH business was as simple as "follow this formula"... it's a really personal journey. Cookie cutter approaches will disappoint you. You are a person, not a cookie. Especially if you are a helper, a healer, or an artist who cares about others. Your wealth is in your weirdness.

What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1) Create a spectacular, love-centred relationship with money.

2) 99% of outer success is inner work.

3) I run every business decision through these 3 criteria: helps others, is fun, pays you well.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

Public speaking has always been my easiest and most effective action (and fun), followed by writing emails to my subscriber list to serve them and build relationship.

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance?

Ha! I'm 25 weddings deep (since our first wedding in 2014) into marrying my husband 100 times in 100 countries.

We took 2020 and 2021 off, but we're planning weddings in Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina in January 2022. I also love to swim in the ocean, take yoga classes on the beach, volunteer for causes, take West Coast Swing classes with my husband, and I just make sure I have the downtime I need.

I believe the true purpose of money is to serve love, lifestyle and legacy. I build my business around those values.

Who are some of your favorite entrepreneurs and why?

14 years ago my mentor was billionaire/fashion icon Fred Segal. I really aligned with his business values and strategies. Really lovely person. Alas, he passed away last year.
