Tell us about yourself
Make It Dairy Free was started in 2018 as a way to bring delicious vegan recipes for everyone to enjoy, whether or not they were vegan themselves. Our biggest goal was to not only help people but to create a business where both my husband and I could work from home. Being able to help others while being home to raise our kids, travel, and enjoy life together motivated us each day to continue to work hard.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment as a business owner was seeing the success of our business allow my husband to quit his full-time job to work on our growing business ventures together full time. Beyond that, seeing the success of our business and hearing daily from our audience how much they enjoy our videos and recipes has truly been a joy.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about running a business is wondering if you are doing it right. Especially when you own an online business, it can be isolating, and it's hard to bounce ideas off of people when you only work closely with just one or a few people. It's kind of like you are in the wild and hope you survive!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure that you have a plan going into the business.
- Be consistent. Even if you aren't perfect, if you provide your audience with what they want on a consistent basis, then they will grow to love you.
- Always be yourself! There's only one you, and you have so much to offer!
