What's your business, and who are your customers?
Magnolia Roots Marketing is a full-service Marketing Agency with over 31 years of experience. We specialize in branding and creating comprehensive and cohesive marketing programs. Our favorite clients are small businesses wanting to grow bigger and start-ups with no marketing.
Tell us about yourself
I began my marketing career as a production assistant. After several years in the corporate world, I decided to start my own consulting firm. I quickly realized that I had a passion for helping small businesses grow. I absolutely love helping my clients develop a strategy for their marketing that looks to the future years down the road.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Hiring my daughter full-time and partnering with her to grow the business together.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing I find in my business is allowing that crucial downtime to re-energize.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just do it. If you are waiting for the perfect time or when the perfect circumstances allow, you will never do it.
- Get good processes in place from the beginning. It will save you so many headaches down the road.
- Have a passion for what you do.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
In addition, I would say one of the keys to success is finding something personal that you can be a part of that is meaningful to you. Allow yourself the time to give back to your community, a charity, or a church organization. I volunteer for our local Relay for Life. It is something that is very personal to me, but I have found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It feeds my soul and, in doing so, has made me a better business owner.
