Tell us about yourself
I'm passionate about helping people and businesses grow, so as I listened to the market over the last ten years, I realized retention was becoming a massive issue for employers. I dove in to solve the problem and have become a highly sought-after keynote speaker and consultant in the space.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In 2018, I published the book "Staying Power: Why Your Employees Leave and How to Keep Them Longer" with a proven framework for reducing employee turnover.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Practicing what we preach. As a talent retention expert, it's critical that I take great care of my team, maintain manageable workloads for everyone, and still get my own job done. That takes a lot of balancing and avoiding spreading myself too thin!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Begin with the end in mind and know your exit strategy for when you're done running the business. Have a solid yet nimble business model with future numbers already projected. Make time to manage your staff in an effective way that makes them feel like a million bucks!
