Tell us about yourself

Angela Mustone, a specialist producer of sensual cosmetics, created the line to empower women to embrace their sensual side. HighOnLove®’s products are chic and display-worthy, but it’s what’s inside that counts. Each one lives up to its promise, as proven by a loyal customer base and vibrant social media community. HighOnLove® exists to break down the stigma surrounding sexuality, self-love and cannabis. Recognizing the power of cannabis in the wellness realm, the brand was created by Angela to remind women that their self-care and sexuality are crucial for living a healthy, happy life. Our line’s Stimulating Oil and Gel have become a cult fave and are well-known to be transformative for those experiencing vaginal dryness, discomfort or decreased libido, helping women around the world reclaim their pleasure.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is getting positive feedback from real people who appreciate the products. Every time I get a message on social media from someone who says their sex life has been improved by the Stimulating Oil or Gel, or someone who just pampering herself with our self-care products , I’m truly overjoyed – that’s what makes it worth it, for me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Funding and raising capital is generally the initial challenge. Now, it’s about the shift in retail due to Covid-19. There have been ups and downs but it’s all about adapting. We’ve put way more effort into our online community on social media, and elevating our website for e-commerce. The uncertainty is a challenge, and I wake up with butterflies in my stomach even now. It’s nerve-wracking to be an entrepreneur – but it’s also thrilling.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Stick to your guns. You have to believe in your project first – if you don’t, how can you convince anyone else to invest in it or sell your products? You need an endless supply of determination and courage.

2. Do your research and ask for advice. The best businesspeople in the world have had mentorship that helped them get where they are, so don't be afraid to ask.

3. Network and make an effort to make contacts in the industry you're interested in. The right contact could be your "big break" and help you get your first big order or contract.
